Why is so much in F1 decided after the race?

Why is F1 unique in world sport where so much is decided in courts and enquiries. Do you think this makes the sport look stupid in the eyes of the public. Bad decisions happen in all sports but none, that I know of, have so much decided after the event.|||As I've just posted in another answer, in horseracing, a Stewards enquiry is called immediately after the end of a race where there's been a questionable incident. The places are not announced until the outcome of the Enquiry is known, at which time bet winnings are paid out.

This is getting to the point (if not beyond!) of farce. I don't remember it getting so bad as it has during the past few seasons. So what's going on..... too much money involved??!

Add - and before everybody screams cheating - remember all these races are taking place an a phenominally high speed, which requires split second decisions (okay in this case it took place, allegedly, under the SC). Not much room for pre-planned cheating there I'd say - unlike taking steriods before a track race!|||Because the FIA care about the result going to the RIGHT people, not those who think they can cheat, bend rules or cover up evidence in order to win.

I think the FIA are quite brave in this repsect as other sporting bodies around the world usually couldn't care less.|||It does frustrate me a bit, seeing as I have to keep checking the internet or the news to see what came of what I already saw... I think they should try and make a race result final and unchangeable after say 18:00 on the monday after a race. That way there's none of this um and ah-ing, teams and drivers can have their say into contentious results, and the casual fans as well as hardcore nuts like me can rest easy knowing who came where.

IMO Lewis drove a fantastic race and deserved to at least keep his fourth place which he earned on the road. Same for Trulli in 3rd... He drove brilliantly and all this palaver has come out of a misunderstanding which was resolved on track with no-one being ripped-off or conned in the process.|||F1 is a joke now. Just a reality show with even a manufactured world champion. Moto GP is far Superior.|||I agree|||I think its basically so Bernie Ecclestone can run the final rule, he seems to have the sport on strings. The latest incident is different, if its proved Hamilton lied then it will be a fair call but in my opinion the sport would be a hell of a lot better without the control of one man and his dog Max Mosely!!|||Unique? Really?

What about athletics? Do the results stand after a winner is found to to have taken banned steroids? That is cheating and when it is done there, it doesn't look stupid, right?

Same here. Just that there are a lot more ways to cheat and to disregard the integrity of the sport. This is a corrective measure and this is common in all sports when caught to be cheating.

-- Bad decisions happen in all sports but none, that I know of, have so much decided after the event.-- Ben Johnson, David Millar, Adrian Annus, if you want, I can give a lot more. Because you don't know it doesn't make your statement right!|||There are a number of very valid reasons for this. Firstly, it's so "high tech" that teams are constantly "stretching" their interpretation of the rules. The consequence of what some might call "cheating", is that the stewards at each race, might have to deal with appeals from other teams, as to either the question of another teams equipment, or the behavior of their driver. There is also the question of an appeal to the FIA, (which is currently looking into the diffusers on the rear of several cars, including the winning Brawn GP cars) and might not be heard for some weeks.|||Can you ask all the cars to hold position and distance while the stewards make a decision? Unfortunately no. While I would like them to decide quickly, I rather they make a correct decision.

By the way, athletics, cycling even football (West Ham and Carlos Tevez) are going to the arbiters or the courts.

BTW, Dan, my problem with McLaren is they chose to mislead (nicer word than lie) during the inquiry. They almost cost Trulli his position and all 6 points. Their punishment is fair. If they had not chosen to hide anything, I would agree that they should keep 4th.

I am glad that Trulli got back the position he deserved. From pit lane to 3rd! wow!|||Many technical and other rules require time to weight the evidience and try to get it right.

In this latest McLaren/Lewis Hamilton episode, the FIA's correct decision was delayed because Hamilton and his team manager David Ryan lied to the officials in their post-race de-brief.|||Because some incidents need reviewed before a decision is made, to stop people like Hamilton cheating|||actually the hunt for justice is what causes as u say 'so much after the event'

in other sports...there's an umpire/refree...whose wrong descision too is to be accepted..|||There is as much controversy over the controversy as there is in the controversy.

It's fairly simple to get the decisions a bit more dynamic - after all F1 is a dynamic sport.

Complaints must be put to the stewards within 1 lap of the incident. The stewards have 3 laps to make a decision - no appeals. And if a complaint is deemed to be spurious the car in question gets a drive thru penalty. If there is not time for a stewards decision before the chequered flag then that is tough luck.

That would make the last 3 laps of every race very interesting.|||sorry to raise a counter example but look at the many athletes DQed after failing a drug test after winning - in some cases having world records cancelled many YEARS after the race.

How many laps in todays Malaysian Grand Prix F1?

I have only started watching F1 recently. Can you tell me how many laps in a normal F1 race.|||56 laps. It will be very humid and it is very likely to rain heavily.|||56 laps for the Malaysian GP.

Different races though will have different lap totals.

Also another thing to keep in mind, not necessarly for today, but for other races, if a race lasts for a certain amount of time (usually due to wet conditions), a race can only last no more than 2 hours (You will sometimes see this in Monaco, where the lap times are slow, and if you get rain, it only gets worse).

Edit: If they do continue, there is a possiblity of hitting the 2 hour mark. If so, the race will end at that time, regardless of if it hits 56 laps or not|||all the tracks have to cover a certain distance, and if one track has been built longer than another it will have shorter laps then a short track that will have more laps.

e.g street circuits would have more laps then a circuit than has been built properly like SilverStone.|||85035803038552809528 laps|||It depends on the track distance. if you go to the website http://www.formula1.com then up the top it has each country in which a race will be held it will give you a track layout and details including how many laps.

The malaysian GP was stopped due to rain and only 31 of the 56 laps was completed and because it was less than 75% of the race completed then half points are awarded.

Hope that helps. Welcome to the F1 family.

Do i have to have medical exam before I go to Visa F1 interview?

im going to a Visa F1 student interview. will i need medial exam before I go to the interview?|||No, non-immigrant F-1 visa applicants do not have medical exams prior to visa issuance.

If there is a possibility that the applicant has a contagious disease of public health significance or may be a drug abuser, a medical exam might be necessary.

If the visa officer has reason to believe that the applicant is not eligible for a visa, then a medical exam could be requested to clear up the issue, but the exam would not take place before the interview.|||If it wasn't mentioned, don't worry about it.

What can go wrong with the parking brake of a 1948 Ford F1 truck, and how would you fix it?

Is there any part of a parking brake mechanism in a 1948 Ford F1 that can simply come loose and be easily repaired?

What else might go wrong with the parking brake that might be difficult at first to figure out but have a relatively easy solution?

I ended up going to the dealship for my repairs. The dealership tends to charge more than mom and pop repair shops, but they've seen all sorts of situations (auto insurance problems, repair warranty issues, etc) and they seem to always find a way to help me. How can I find the paperwork needed to apply for a F1 US visa, including my spouse and kids?

I got the i-20 from my university and now I need to apply for an F1 visa, and also for F2 visa for my wife and my kids. What is the paperwork needed for this? Do I need a lawyer to prepare them?

Thanks,

Bernie|||You dont need a lawyer. The international students office at your university should have plenty of information regarding how to proceed.

Basically, after you receive your i-20, you have to schedule an appointment for a via at the U.S. Embassy. Bring all the documentation you can, and all the documentation that sent the university that accepted you.

You can read more about the process here:

Who is the least experienced driver ever to race in F1?

I'm not talking about age, but racing experience and years. Also, how did he become an F1 driver?|||Most drivers have years of karting experience, but in terms of CAR racing experience, Mike Thackwell is probably going to prove difficult to beat.

Thackwell had a single year of F3 and most of a season of F2 prior to his GP debut. His father had been involved in racing since before Mike was born, which explains his rapid introduction to the sport. He was a top talent, but his career stalled when he arrived in F1 - a similar situation to Luca Badoer.

Ricardo Rodriguez had no karting experience prior to his car racing career. His progression from nothing to sportscars to F1 (in a Ferrari, no less) took him about 2 years. He benefitted from sharing equipment and expertise with his older brother, Pedro. Like several other drivers, he was promoted from the works Ferrari sportscar squad to the F1 team.

Fernando Alonso had over a decade of karting experience, but only 2 years racing cars, when he made his F1 debut. He had a pushy parent with frustrated driving ambitions. Flavio Briatore knew a good thing when he saw it and "placed" Alonso with Minardi.

Chris Amon also had no karting background, and made his F1 debut after just 3 years in lower formulae. He got into F1 thanks to a New Zealand driver-sponsorship programme which sent him to Europe.

For earlier answerers: Raikkonen had 6 years racing cars before his F1 debut and Schumacher had nearly 4 years experience in cars. Both of them had extensive karting careers beforehand. Taki Inoue, meanwhile, had 9 years of car racing experience before his late debut at the age of 31, so it isn't him! Nelsinho Piquet had almost 7 years in cars before getting into F1, although he was the youngest ever South American F3 champion AND the youngest ever British F3 champion along the way.|||It could be Rubens Barrichello, He is set to become the first driver to reach 300 Grand Prix entries and 300 starts (now is 284) in 2010. Assuming the season is trouble free, his 300th start will be achieved at the Japanese Grand Prix.

but i choose Michael "Schumi" Schumacher.

He isn't just old enough, he's so experienced, tasted the glory periods, got the title "Rain Master", great, and if he didn't retire from formula one, i'm so sure that he would be the first driver to reach the much-est races.

Besides, he won 7 times Driver World's Champion of Formula One, got 91 winning race, and he started his racing career since 7 years old. He must be the experienced driver ever to race in F1.

Schumacher made his Formula One debut with the Jordan-Ford team at the 1991 Belgian Grand Prix, driving car number 32 as a replacement for the imprisoned Bertrand Gachot. Then, his glory was began to play :)|||As for the least time in the feeder series to be competitive, that would be kimi raikkonen, who jumped strait from formula 3. he was the least experienced world champion.|||Takachiho Inoue, who got sponsorship from Unimat and a Simtek seat in 1994.|||Looked like a lack of experience for Nelson Piquet jr though it wasn't he was just awful!|||a lot!!!!!

Is it hard to get an off-campus work permit in the US when you are a F1 student?

I'm studying right now in Alaska with a F1 Visa so I wanted to apply for an off-campus work permit after I complete my first year here but researching in the websites of the goverment it seems like a lot of trouble and not really easy. Is it really the way the make it seem? Thanks a lot.|||No it isn't hard. You have to demonstrate economic necessity, and the number of hours you can work is limited. Follow the link below. Go to page 4. It explains under what circumstances an F-1 student may work. The very most important thing is to keep going to school and keep passing grades. If you neglect your studies because of employment, the school sends a letter to Immigration and Customs Enforcement. It gets worse from there.|||After attending school for 1 year F1 students can seek “off-campus” employment with the permission of USCIS only if they can prove that economic need has changed for example medical bills that need to be paid. All students can work 20 hours per week on-campus with-out the permission of USCIS.

What will happen if F1 student gets reported for drug use?

my friend is under F1 visa. he took come pills and fell unconscious. his cousin took him to the hospital. the doctor said he was going to be fine but reported to the police as a drug case. he took about 20 pills of some medicine. can any one tell me if he is going to get deported or he'll be fined. i would really appreciate if anyone could tell me what might happen.|||It would probably depend on whether these pills are narcotics and whether they regard this as a suicide attempt or a fairly stupid effort to get high. 20 of anything doesn't sound like an accident.|||There's a pretty good possibility he will be deported. F1 students are here because they want to learn not get high.|||i honestly think if the police found out that he had bought the drugs and if ur friend gets convicted he will be 1st detained then deported for sure. The United States takes drugs really seriously..|||There's a great possibility that he will get deported. A friend of mine was deported due to a fight. The police came and reported as an assault. Once the police are involved and a record is written, it's very possible that the individual gets deported.

What are the procedures because I am applying at the US EMbassy in Manila for a Sudent F1 Visa?

You can get the application forms on line at the embassy website. Check out manila.usembassy.gov. You'll need to pay the application fee and register for an appointment. Certainly, you'll need to show you have the ability to pay the tuition and living expenses. you'll also have to show your English ability, which is automatic with the interview. If you can't do the interview in English, that would certainly be a problem. There are other considerations as well, so be prepared to answer questions concerning why you want to pursue this course of study at this particular school.|||Prove that you can finance your studies in the US and it is the most important requirement.

how possible it is to change your F1 visa to get a resident permit through the sponsorship of an american family when you are 21 %26amp; older?|||When you said American family, were you referring to homestay family? If yes, the answer is no.

As F1 you have several choices:

1. Get hired by US company and you will be granted worker visa (if the company agrees to sponsor worker visa for you). Down the road working for the company, you can ask your boss to have company sponsors you green card

2. If your country is eligible for green card lottery, submit it each year. Maybe you are lucky to get one. It's free.|||Not possible. Only an employer or blood relatives can sponsor you for a green card.|||Not possible|||only if they are close family relatives, parents or siblings

How much money do I need to build a F1 circuit?

What is the cot of an F1 circuit?|||50 + million $|||Probably more than it would take to make an f1 car.

You would need to have zoning permits and licences and approval from the local town to build. Then you would have to hire architects and engineers to design it and developers to construct and build it. You also need to pay for all the materials, equipment and additional manpower. Any delays or extra costs due to natural disasters or storms would also have to be considered.

All that would probably take about 2 years... good luck..|||70 million

Do you think there should be some women F1 drivers?

Women are allowed to participate in F1 but for many years men have dominated the sport. Throughout the whole history of F1 there ahve only been 5 female F1 drivers should there be more?|||Good question Cookie. Perhaps it's not question of "should" there be women F1 drivers. If a woman grows through the ranks and proves she has got what it takes to do the job, I'm sure there'd be an opportunity for her at the top of the sport.

Some sports are more mentally and physically suited to a particular gender and it would seem that traditionally, motor-racing is a sport that men have the stronger leanings towards.

It could of course be a gender raising issue as well, as it is usually the Dad who wants to coach and encourage the son to go for it. Although, I recall reading that Alonso's father tried very hard to get his daughter into karting but she just was not interested so the kart was passed down to the younger brother Alonso - and wallah!

|||no|||If there's a woman good enough who can compete on equal terms then fine, but historically all the women F1 drivers have sucked.

|||I agree with David, frankly there aren't any good enough, yes there are some good female race drivers but none at an F1 talent level.

Lella Lombardi finished 6Th in the 1975 Spanish GP|||If they have the mental and physical strength to do so, then why not?|||only if they are good enough. F1 should be about the best drivers, not setting any artificial "quotas" for male and female drivers.

But maybe there should be more done to encourage girls to take up karting and then racing.

After one of the most exciting F1 seasons in 2008, how is 2009 shaping up?

I'm honestly bored out of my mind. The sissy politics of F1 seem to have to outshone the action on track (a common problem in F1). What is your outlook for the rest of the season?

BQ: Will the trick diffusers ultimately bring downforce levels in high speed corners to a point where the FIA intended them not to be?|||remember in years past, the two top teams starting out the season strongest, separated the gap through development, not in a decade have such strong and well funded teams been in a position to play catchup with the leaders,

i think brawn and red bull will be handicapped (yeah only to a small degree) funds wise where as mclaren and ferrari have a long way to go and more than enough funds to get there,

so far i think this year has been better than last, and has the potential to be even better still,

as for the political hoopla, it only effects you if you let it, i personally think, as of now, that the FIA have ruled as i would have on every issue, if you don't read all the mud slinging and political trash you would only think that we have a great season going on|||I don't think it's too bad. It could have been a bit dull if Brawn completely dominated the field during every race. Right now, I'm expecting Redbull to fight back and there's even space for Toyota to finally get their first victory with a lot of luck. Maybe McLaren can pull off a late comeback a la Renault 2008.

It's true that there's the usual controversies but I think it will calm down a little bit after a while. I'm looking forward to Spain, wonder if the updates will re shuffle the pecking order.|||I agree with you that politics has taken priority over racing once again, and I have to admit that I've become embroiled in it, due to things happening within the sport that I strongly disagree with. As for the rest of the season, I really have no idea, the Brawn and Red Bull cars and driver's look genuinely good, but I can see the McLaren's and probably Ferrari coming back at them after mid season.

As for the diffusers, they are without doubt a benefit, but not the sole reason behind efficient downforce, look at the Red Bull.

The FIA make some strange decisions as we all know, ie. reduce downforce to make cars go slower, then give them back slick tyres to make them go quicker! Very strange!|||The racing in 2009 is vastly more exciting than 2008 allready. There have been one or two political problems which are all hapily now resolved, so the good racing can continue.|||Unless some teams catch Brawn it's just gonna be boring.

Loads of people are enjoying their dominance at the moment, but after a whole season they will have had more than enough.

It was so much better in my view last year when neither of the top two teams were perfect, and so there was no certainty as to who would come out on top either race.

It seems that the only drivers actually overtaking often are the drivers that have been put down the grid since last year, such as Lewis and Kimi, as the others just jump each other in pit stops, or go past when they make mistakes.

Hopefully everything will change in Spain, and we will be back to uncertainty and actual racing.

BQ:

Yes, I think you're right, the teams will just reinstate the sownforce levels slowly until they are pretty much the same as last year.|||Well the new two tier diffusers although completely legal do go against what the FIA was trying to achieve and that was to lower downforce levels and increase overtaking in the sport. The new diffusers cause a turbulence effect which creates "dirty air" behind the car so the following car has more trouble overtaking, while also providing downforce levels up near last years cars (this years cars are faster than last year).

As for the the comment about the FIA making strange decisions like lowering downforce and then adding slick tyres this is again another step to aid in overtaking as the higher levels of downforce creates more turbulence behind the cars where as slick tyres do not, so the slick tyres were simply added to make up for the lack of downforce and are an excellent idea. The is also why the new front ends are wider and the rears narrower. The front tyres are thinner than the rear which doesn't take a genius to realise will create more traction at the rear than at the front.

I think the season so far has been very exciting, im glad to see new faces up the front, including JB who i have long felt was an excellent driver stuck in a useless team. Its also fantastic to see the prancing horse finally not doing so well. However i anticipate a strong surge in the coming months from both mclaren who are already starting to show some promising signs, and also ferrari who simply have to many smart engineers and too much money not to have a competent car once they can work there problems out with KERS.

Actually KERS i feel is one of the more interesting things in formula 1 which a lot of teams seem to be against but i think it adds another layer to the sport and makes it more interesting to watch with some teams opting to run it and some not. Just look at what hamilton did in the bahrain GP when he shot up from 5th position to 2nd or 3rd in the first corner, assisted by KERS|||The season will likely improve as the field catchs up with the Brawn cars.

I couldn't agree more with the stupid politics of the sport 2009 is leading the way for that. We've had Hamilton DQ fo not telling the truth. What that has to do with where he finished I'll never understand at worst he was 4th.

The rediculously stupid rule book with a hole the size of (something very big) in it.

And no the diffusers won't make for that high of speeds. The slicks and giant front wings give plenty of downforce anyways.

Can't Bernie and Max go buy a remote island somewhere and leave the sport alone!|||The season has been fantastic so far! Far better than 2008. We have new teams running up front, drivers who have never been title contenders suddenly running up front, we have the Ferrari/McLaren mystique shattered. BMW is getting smoked by the likes of Force India, and we still don't know where Alonso will end up next year. Granted, I don't think the driver's championship battle will come down to the last turn of the last race of the season, but I think we will have more excitement throughout the entire year, especially if Ferrari and McLaren suddenly find speed again, making it a 4 team battle for the constructor's championship.|||A Button domination

What was the average time it took for a f1 pitstop in the 1960s?

what was the average time it took for a f1 pitstop in the 1960s also how many men were in the pitcrew.. thanks in advanced.|||Prepare to laugh.....in the early 60's and late 50's 3-4minutes. There were no pit stop garages, drivers pulled up on the side of the road, climbed out, along came the mechanics with their tools around their waists, lifted the bonnet off, did some tuning, slowly replaced the tyres, driver climbed back in and drove off. There were about three mechanics in total.

How old were you when you started watching F1?

How old were you when you started watch F1 on a regular basis and who introduced you to it?

I was 13, I wasn't allowed to watch F1 until then in case there was a fatal accident and the due to the secret hope from my mother that I would start like girly things. (That never happened.)

(When she realised that a girl can like boys and cars at the same time I was allowed to watch F1.)|||I’m from Australia and when I was kid I pretty much only watched the Australian GP (all the European races were on at 2am Australian time)… I remember watching the 1993 Australian GP when I was 4. When I was 11 in 2000 I started taping F1 races and I would watch them the following day – so I guess that’s when I “officially” started watching F1.|||My dad was an avid Indy car and Formula one fan, and i was brought up that way too. I remember sneaking out of my bed as a very young kid to watch the Formula one races on live on TV late at night with Dad, even though he taped them for me, and i would always watch it on the Monday night after school.

My favorite parts was the starts, crashes, rounds of pit stops and of course podium (especially the champagne spraying). I always got dad to "skip the talking at the end" cos that was the boring bit!

I think i only really started to understand all the tires, fuel loads, wings, pit stops and laps when i was 4 or 5 but i knew a fair amount of the drivers names by the time i was 3. Hence naming my teddy bear Michael Schumacher haha.

Went to my first gran prix, the Melbourne GP when i was 3 and loved it, but it was too loud! Now i go every year.

Mark Webber all the way!!!|||I have memories of my dad watching the odd races when I was very young and wanting to be a racing driver. It wasn't until I was 12/13 I started properly watching. They used to show the highlights before kids morning tv so I bought a computer game and my mum bought me tickets for Silverstone 1997. The rest is history, I became a hardcore fan.|||I watched bits and pieces when I was a child, but none of my family were into motorsport (or any other sport, now I think about it!), so sport programmes were rarely on the TV, save wrestling on a Saturday!

It wasn't till I was about 25 when I got into F1 big time. Can't even remember how exactly I got watching a race, but I was hooked straight away.|||I started watching F1 regularly in 1997 and the race was the Monaco Grand Prix. Before then I watched 1 or 2 races but I can't remember them, must have been between 1992 and 1994. No body got me into it, I just turned the tv on on a Sunday afternoon and have been hooked ever since.|||I've been watching F1 as long as I can remember. I'm 16, and went to the US GP in Indy when I was 7 I think. Of course, most of this is because my dad's been working in IndyCar since 1996 so when my favorite drivers Alex Zanardi and then his replacement Juan Montoya both ended up going to Formula 1 I watched mostly to see them.

Nice story by the way haha, your parents aren't the only ones who can be that crazy. Trust me.|||I started when I was 6 years old, I remember in 1999 my dad bought me a Playstation for Christmas, and one of the games that he got for me was F1 99. I became interested in the sport after playing the game, and when I found out that they showed F1 races on TV, I started watching them.|||I'm 33 now and i started watching F1 at the start of the 90s. I can't remember which year. I stopped watching it in about 2001 as i got board of watching MS win everything. Than i started watching it again in 2007 and i've not missed a race since. Go Lewis.|||I grew up with car and bike racing, I saw my first motor race sometime in the early 50s (Castle Combe, which is where my youngest daughter first walked!)) and F1 on TV when we finally got one in 1957.

How does a F1 student from the UK file a US Income tax return?

I'm really confused as to how I fill out form 1040NR-EZ. I know that the UK and the US has a tax treaty but I'm not sure how it works.

I am an F1 student in VA and I earned about $4200 in the tax year. Will I get all of the federal tax back?|||On F1 you are exempt from residency for 5-years. You must file non-resident tax return Form 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ and Form 8843. Your income is not subject to FICA taxes but you must pay federal and state income taxes.

On your income you will get deduction based on tax treaty between the U.S. and your country. The UK and US tax treaty for students does not have any deduction for students from UK. You can claim itemized deduction.|||You get a personal exemption of $3,650. If you earned more than that you will have some tax liability so you won't receive a refund of all of the tax that was withheld. The treaty essentially exempts any non-US income from US taxation while you are an F1 student.

Non-resident Aliens cannot claim the standard deduction or most itemized deductions. You can claim the sate income taxes that you paid during the year but that's about it.

How many seats accross are in of the f1 section in Orlando's Amway Arena?

How would F1 change if Danica Patrick was a driver?

..for any team. Do you think it would be a good thing? Hopefully it would but I think that there will be too much press coverage on her good looks and it could possibly damage the credibility of the sport and her driving.

Having said that I would love to see her racing in F1 in the future.|||I have heard that she would be willing to entertain a one off test, if it were a proper test. She turned down the chance for a test in the US last year because she viewed it as a publicity stunt. I have followed her career for a good many years, and she has always been pretty competative, but she has not been a winner very often. She had 5 or 6 podiums in Formulas Atlantic and she has recently won a race in Indycar.

I think that some day she might be ready, but she still has a lot of learning to do before she would be ready for a top F1 team. I do believe that she will probably get a chance at some point, and I hope that she does well.|||I think you're jumping the gun a bit.

EDIT: Actually, It would be really funny if she did a Hamilton on them all in her first season and just kept getting better and better and rinsed the floor with them all and then became Alonso teamate in Honda.|||It would be good for whatever team she joined because of the fanbase she has already built up in IRL and all the americans who want to see how she does. It would be bad for the sport because if she were accepted into a team, it would prove to everyone that F1 is no longer the sport it used to be where talent used to matter, but rather just another platform for big companies and corporations to advertise and get publicity.|||Sorry to be cruel but she would probably set new record slowest lap times, 1 Indy win since 2005, though good isn't going to make her a successful F1 driver. Good PR for a F1 Honda test that's all that will happen. I hope one day there are successful F1 drivers again but Danica Patrick isn't it.|||I think F1 would make the news and it would be exciting and interesting until she's dropped in which case all goes back to normal and nothing's changed.

For women to change people's perceptions concerning their driving abilities they have to crack F1 and she's not the chosen one.|||I can't imagine by much, maybe she'll have a hunky bloke holding her number on the grid?

Joking aside, If she is good enough and wins races, she is damned, if she qualifies badly and trails at the back end of the pack , she is damned. The commentators, try as they may will be either pretty patronising or 'dazzled by her beauty'

I hope she does well but coming from US racing to F1 is a tough road to go on as a Champion (ask Bourdais, Zanardi, Villeneuve. . ok, maybe not him)

I wish her all the best, as she'll need it.|||I think she will try NASCAR before jumping to F1. Either way, I don't think it would change in the long run. Yes, there would be more press coverage initially; but that would die down when something else catches the public's attention.|||i don't think it will change much but i I would love to see her racing in F1|||It will be a turning point for F1. The Americans could actually be interested to watch F1 then. And loads of sponsorship will come in. Not sure how good she is in the series she's driving in now but if she wants to really make a good impact in F1, she'd have to be a challenge to the frontrunners.|||Other than being a woman, I don t see why it would be appealing to see her in F1. She s not especially fast, and may not be up to F1 standards. Being beautiful should not land anyone a seat in F1. F1 would lose some of its Pinaccle of Racing status if they started getting drivers just because.

What are the phenotypes and genotypes of the f1 generation in a Mendelian genetics problem about blood types?

A man who has blood type A negative blood and a woman who has heterozygous Type B positive blood have children. What are the phenotypes and genotypes of the f1 generation?|||I'm assuming the male has homozygous AA genotype because the question points out that the female is heterozygous B postive.

Thus, the male contributes only A- gametes, while the female contributes 1/4 B+, 1/4 B-, 1/4 O+ and 1/4 O-

So the genotypic ratios are:

1/4 A-B+

1/4 A-B-

1/4 A-O+

1/4 A-O-

and the phenotypic ratios are

1/4 AB positive

1/4 AB negative

1/4 A positive

1/4 A negative|||Odd question as we usually don't use F1 for humans...

Also you don't say if man has homozygous or heterozygous A.

A type can be AO or AA must be --

B type can be BO or BB and +- or ++

do you mean heterozygous for both for woman homozyg for both for man?

AA vs BB would have only AB offspring

-- vs ++ would have only +- offspring

so children would be AB+-

Is there an age qualification for an F1 racer?

I'm writing the class prophecy and I want to be as accurate as possible. So my classmate wants to be a surgeon AND an F1 racer. So I say, surgeon first, then F1 racer when retired. But can she still be an F1 racer on retirement age? Won't she be restricted because of the adrenaline rush and all?|||The skillsets required to be a surgeon and an F1 racer are oceans apart. It would be a miracle if your friend has the fitness and reflexes required to be in any sort of racing by the time she retires. Surgeon is more practical, so surgeon first and in 30 years time there will be lots of F1 simulators that is almost as good as the real one. Maybe she can have a go in any of the virtual F1 series for that time.|||Listen, if the great veteran Button can do it after 15 years in the sport, anyone can. Do F1 teams have copyright over their team names?

I'm planning a story about a fictional F1 driver, and I would like to use the real teams' names. Most of them, at least. I wonder if they have copyright over the team names, because writing about something that you don't have copyright about is a downright crime. I guess they don't, since the team names are splattered all over the news, but is it OK to use the team names in writing a novel?|||Copyright? Probably not... but the issue is ultimately not as simple as "is there a copyright?"

Copyright is used to protect original works of authorship (literary, dramatic, musical, and/or artistic). As such, the Ferrari logo could be copyrighted, but the name could not (it's a family name and not an original work of authorship). Most F1 teams fall in the same camp, though a name like Force India might be copyrighted.

What the names would be, are Trademarks, which are quite different than copyrights. I could open a store called Ferrari Books, and sell books and magazines and exerpience no problems with the Ferrari car company... however, if I were to open a car dealership and use the Ferrari name, I'd be the quick recipient of a letter from Ferrari's lawyers informing me that I had just stepped on the Trademark.

Since none of the F1 teams are in the business of selling literary works, it's unlikely they have any Trademarks relating to this, so it's PROBABLY ok. If you have a publishing deal and are set to go, then have you agent, your lawyer, your agent's lawyer, your publisher, or whoever is sitting along the legal chain for your work check out the specifics for the names you are using and the laws for the countries where it will be published.

if you do not have a publishing deal, then you are way ahead of yourself... write what you want. If you want to research it just for your own knowledge, check the Copyrights And Trademarks laws and registrations for the country where you live... but really, most of the names cannot be copyrighted, and Trademarks only come into play once you attempt to use them in "trade," which happens after the writing process.|||Technically they hold the 'rights' not the 'copyright' - but that is semantics. If you are a serious novelist then you might be able to obtain the right to use the official F1 team names, but licensing it from FOM will cost you, and thats assuming they decide your project is worthy enought to merit use of the license.

If you are writing purely for pleasure without aiming to publish for profit, then you can go ahead and do it anyway.

Does anyone know how to make the F1 error go away on the Whirlpool Cabrio?

I have a Whirlpool Cabrio for 18 months and now everytime I start the washer I get an F1 error. How do I make it stop having the error?|||Try unplugging from the wall and leave it unplugged for a while. That may reset the computer chip. Worth a shot anyway, and works for other appliances and electronics.|||There is no need to replace your Whirlpool Cabrio if you get the F1 code. Hiding within your washer is a secret coded booklet that has all the error codes that don't appear in the user's manual.

F1 means the central electrical control unit, i.e. the onboard computer, has fatally failed. Unless you have both the skill and tools to test the guts of this computer, you're stuck replacing it. Good news, three screws at the rear to expose the control panel, then unplug one unit; plug in the new one. Just to be on the safe side, color code all the plugs and receptacles. Is it illegal for you to stay in the US with an expired F1 visa but the I-20 form?

What I suspect is happening is that your BIOS has detected an error with the hardware (missing fan or something) and asks you to acknowledge it. Obviously, if you can still boot this erros is not that bad (altough if it's about a fan not working you may want to check it out as it may cause the computer to overheat)

Are all three days of a F1 meeting equally as good?

I have a 3 day ticket for the Japan GP. It's a 2-3 hour drive from my house. It's my first visit to an F1 meeting. On the practice day I think we'll be able to get close to the cars. The big race day is the big event of course. What's good about the qualifying day? Is watching cars go in circles for 3 days is too much?

What do you think? |||I agree with Emma, it is definitely worth it.

The best memory I have in F1, is when I attended the first Turkish Grand Prix. Qualifying and the race was great. But on the Friday I had one of the best experiences ever.

For a start, the security was nothing compared to Saturday and Sunday, we even got lost and ended up in the drivers car park. We finally parked about 30meters from the pit straight grandstand somehow it was great!

Secondly, on the Friday and Saturday you get a roaming pass. You can access any grandstand or part of the track you want. We had a look at the main pit straight and got a great view inside the garages.

We managed to get into the general admission area which was completely empty at the top of the hill at turn 3 and it was gobsmacking. I have never ever experienced such a rush as to see the car shooting up the hill a few meters away from me. You could even see the drivers heads twitching to look for the braking points.

Nothing will ever come close to that experience, not even the race. Maybe Hamilton winning in the wet at Silverstone was the best event in F1 I have witnessed, and believe me I went mad, but I have never felt so amazed as that day.

So yes, it is definitely worth it. You will get a massive insight into F1. Its quite an eye opener, you can go an look at different corners and see how the different cars handle and how each driver handles each corner differently. You may get bored of the same shops and merchandise stores and walking around the same attractions for three days but you certainly won't get bored with the on track action.

Go back to your dog and pony show and leave the racing for the big boys!|||I had a three day ticket for Spa and we got there on the Friday and watched the practice session which was the first time we saw all the cars. Jenson Button's car died just in front of us and he was wandering around just a few feet away. Then on the Saturday we got to the circuit at about 9am and watched the qualifying and the various other races/qualifying. We were so excited watching the qualifying and seeing Hamilton get pole that we almost forgot about the actual race the following day! It was an amazing atmosphere and seeing the Formula BMW driving along while literally touching was awesome. The next day we got to the circuit at about 8am and we were already on such a buzz from what was to come and seeing Hamilton win (I like to dismiss the after events!) was incredible!

I actually found the qualifying about as exciting as race day. Because it's a build up to the race the atmosphere was brilliant and seeing the other races was like an inkling of what was to come.

I think you should make the most of your three day ticket and get as much out of it as you can. Enjoy!|||Day 1, practice. its not as long as you think when you are watching the cars. wander around the venue and do some shopping. catch some of the entertainment

Day 2, qualifying. Watch the quali then shop again and watch some of the other events.

Day 3, race. be there for the drivers parade and various displays. watch the race, then wander around for a while, go the the after GP event. don't try and leave the circuit too early, you'll be stuck in traffic for hours. you just as well take advantage of what is available at the track.

Unfortunately you won't get up close and personal with the cars unless you have pit or paddock access.

All 3 days have loads going on. buy a program and you will get all the relevant info in there. There will also be opportunities to go to driver signings and interviews etc, so make the most of your ticket and go all three days. wish I could go with you lol|||y dont ui giv the ticket to me..%26gt;??!!...i just stay in ur neighourhood...just 1-2 countries away....i wud njoy goin to the race...

as u dnt seem as intrstd in seeing car's go round and round....!!!!..

even if i get the tickets...maybe rather i wud sell it...hmm....cause i wont even have the money for the air ticket rather....but selling it within 2 days is difficult...!!..even 4 days isnt that easy...hmmm.....so y dont u sell it der in Japan and send the money to me...;-)...

lol

my recommendation-

u better visit the race....hough i never visit an race weekend..hmm..with wat emma and many other pl above said/wrote...i think...its gonna be gr8 fun...|||Ive never been to Japan but Ive been to Silverstone%26amp; Magny Cours.

If you're a F1 fan you'll love every day. Friday practise is great as the access around the pits is more available. Quali day is a little more busy and race day can be hectic, ask around to see whats the earliest you can get in on Sunday,

Have a great time|||There is always plenty to do. You can walk around the paddock and hopefully get some autographs, you can go crazy with your credit card and buy official merchandise. There should be other support races you can watch. And the main event which is F1 - the noise alone will blow you away!

If you are into lap times and following a particular team/driver, why don't you hire a Kangaroo TV?

http://www.kangaroo.tv/

I've never hired one, but am thinking of giving it a try next year.

I go to Melbourne GP every year and spend the full 4 days at the circuit. There is no F1 action on Thursday, but there are lots of other stuff happening. I could spend the days sightseeing the city of Melbourne, but I'd rather stay at the circuit and soak it up.

Don't know about Fuji...maybe you can climb the mountain? |||If you have such questions about this event, why are you so interested in going?

Maybe others look at this event in a different light. Maybe they want to see how they perform, what they look like and such, something different then what your interests seem to be.

You should remember me, I am the one who asked the question about buying rural land in Japan and your replied that I am full of B.S.

What happens if a in F1 visa was denied Asylum and has to go back home b4 the end of his study and come back?

just leaving the USA for a month would he be denied another F1 visa in order to come back? or he will never be allowed to come back even if he is not done with his studies?|||that would be up to the immigration inspector at the airport. it would be a judgement call, so it's very hard to predict, but it is a risk. however, since he's still in status as a student, he certainly could be allowed to return. on the other hand, if he's going home for some personal reason, it does give the appearance that the asylum claim was bogus to begin with, so whatever sympathy the inspector might have will drop a few levels. If he remains in the US while in status as a student, he'll have no problems at all.|||As George L says, making an asylum claim is for someone who CANNOT return to their home country for fear of persecution, jail or even death. If you return to your country then try to come back to the US, they will assume you filed an asylum application under false pretenses and can ban you from reentering the US

Your best bet is to stay in the US until you finish your studies as long as you have a valid F1 visa.|||Please consult with an immigration lawyer to be sure. First time consultation with most immigration lawyers are free. Good luck!

Look at any of the paperwork USCIS has sent you and it will have an "A-xxxxx" number on it somewhere in the top right hand side. As does your residency card. And your Social Security notification.|||The same way anyone does. Apply to INS for a "green card." There are grass roots organizations in every neighborhood in America to help you. What is a typical case for applying EAD under sever economic hardship? Please let me know what documents you submitted and how long did they took to approve or process the case? Who was the best F1 driver never to win a race?

Who was the best F1 driver never to win a race?

Can be from any era, but they have to have raced in Formula One (so no NASCAR only drivers). Please provide some sort of support for your choice.|||Chris Amon. Brilliant but unlucky. I'd put him above Jeannot Behra, Jean-Pierre Jarier, Ricardo Rodriguez and Derek Warwick.

Amon was superb in the wet, and was highly rated by Enzo Ferrari, so much so that he was a works Ferrari driver for 3 seasons (Mike Hawthorn held the record with 4 seasons at that point) and he left of his own accord.

There were so many races which he could or should have won; the 1970 Belgian GP was one example of his bad luck. His stunning drive should have brought victory, but it was one of the very few occasions where the hugely powerful BRM of Pedro Rodriguez held together to the finish...Amon was all over the back of the BRM in the corners, but couldn't get by on the straights. It was the same story at Brands Hatch in 1968 - on a rare occasion where Seppi Siffert's private Lotus entry finished, it was Amon who followed him over the line in second place. Or the 1972 French GP at Clermont Ferrand, where he led for half the race before a puncture dropped him down the field; his comeback drive to third place would have been worth the win on it's own.

For the stats:

96 starts

45 retirements (of which only 5 were accidents - 3 of those at the N眉rburgring)

183 laps in the lead (comparison: Heidfeld has led 25 laps)|||Jean Behra, a French F1 Driver.

Of the 53 GPs he started;

9 were podiums

15 were in the top 5

23 were in the top 8

He was subject to 26 retirements, only one of which was an accident, the rest were reliability problems with the car.

He never won, but did very well in his 8 year career, and to be able to stay motivated when you are caused to retire 26 times in your career, when you are capable of scoring 3 consecutive 3rd places.

Current drivers would be Nick Heidfeld and Mark Webber, but Mark Webber may not be a member of this list for much longer|||Cicco 's Tom Pryce and rosbif's Chris Amon are the 2 stand out top non race winners.

A few not so great but extremely good non race winners are;

Mike Hailwood, one of the few to jump from 2 to 4 wheels and be good, only ever drove awful Surtees cars in the 1970s, a career highlight was 2nd at the 1972 Italian GP

Stuart Lewis- Evans, only ever started 14 grand prixs in the late 1950s but shone so brightly, 2 3rd places in the 1958 Vanwall before crashing in the Moroccan GP, dying from terrible burns 6 days later.

Stefan Jhohansson, he got some great cars in F1 but seemed to never settle into his role as a no.2. 2 second places at Ferrari in 1985 and 2 for McLaren in 1987 but with his talent, he should of achieved more, only has his conscience and Alian Prost as a team mate to blame.

Martin Brundle%26amp; Andrea De Cesaris were another 2 who could of won, if in the right place at the right time.

How some are saying still current drivers beggars belief and who ever gave rosbif 2 TD's should avoid this section and go to polls and surveys|||It麓s not an easy question, as good drivers always find a way to win a race. There are lots who are not so great that won one race or more.

Not counting recent rookies who still have a careerr ahead of them there are three good F1 drivers with no wins that come to my mind

Nick Heidfield. - Always quick, never quick enough. For some reason he has never been on the top of the podium. He is a very good driver with not so much luck.

Ricardo Rodriguez. He was the young brother of Pedro Rodriguez. Was a young racing promise during the sixties who was killed during a race.

Tom Pryce. A very fast driver whose career ended prematurely when he was killed in South Africa during a GP,|||In recent years, I'd say Nick Heidfeld. He's been a quality driver for several years but things have never quite turned out right for him. He's been in a few good cars but has yet to find himself in the likes of a Ferrari or McLaren (despite the fact that he came up through the McLaren Mercedes system as a youth).|||I'd have to agree with rosbif about Chris Amon. I remember seeing him in a screaming Matra at Mosport but his luck was terrible. He was still a fave of mine though.|||Jean-Pierre Jarier in my opinion.|||Nick Heidfeld and Mark Webber.|||Nick Heidfeld

Will F1 pumpkin seeds regrow if i save them from year to year?

I was trying to buy pumpkin seeds online for next year and some say F1 and I was wondering if these F1 seeds are able to grow the following years if i keep saveing pumpkin seeds each time. And I know nothing about pollination or anything so i am not willing to do it. I just want to plants the seeds and keep harvesting new seeds each year you know?|||An F1 plant is a cross between two different parent plants. You can save the seeds and they will grow, but the resulting plants may not grow true to type. If they were further crossed with another variety there is no telling what the result will be. It may be similar to what you planted, the plant it crossed with or combinations of each. Some very unusual and unique varieties have been developed by crossing; try the seeds and see what you get. It may be better than the original.

Good luck and enjoy!

What would happen if the best indy cars and drivers were to compete against the best of F1?

They could race in indy in one race and F1 in the next.Who would win..why?

What is the difference anyhow? Can anyone enlighten me please?|||they would die|||f1 drivers wil win da race...bcoz f1 cars r da fastestcars on earth........|||Competing on whose territory? F1 drivers on home or away grounds? If it was F1 drivers at home, competing alongside the Indy car drivers,. f1 would win hands down. The same if Indy car drivers were on home territory, they'd win on THEIR home ground. That's my view.|||Technicall they are very different. Foremost is the fact that they use different technologies. F1 cars are very very different from Indy cars. In Indy a same spec engine is used. In F1 the engine is by different manufacturers and the broad parameters are laid down by the FIA but teams develop engines from there onwards.

But to answer your question F 1 cars are more faster, lighter and they can set up for straight line speed, downforce, cornering and so on. In terms of driver talent also the F1 scores hands down more because it has a wider pool to chose from.

F 1 will win on any type of track.|||F1 car probably, but it'd be more exciting if the IRL car won. F1 is boring as a racing format, but IRL takes a bit of getting into, but is worth it once you get over the fact that they just go round and round and round and round an...|||An indy car wouldn't cope as well around turns as an F1 car does... and an F1 car on an oval track... I think it kills it inside!|||There is a difference in the cars F1 cars are much heavier with chunkier tyres and are much sharper to handle (more accurate if you like). Indy cars are actually made for oval tracks and have staggered tyres. NASCAR is the American version of our saloon car racing.|||They'd all crash on the first right turn!|||I would suggest that the F1 drivers would pip it, but it would be close. The reasoning behind this is the opinions of the drivers themselves. Typically the younger, less experienced F1 test drivers will take an Indy seat to get race experience in the hope of getting a formula 1 drive. For example, Jacques Villeneuve won the Indy 500 at the age of 24, then 2 years later went on to be F1 world champion.

Montoya also lost out on a F1 seat in 1999, went on to win the Indy 500 and then got a race seat with the Williams F1 team in 2001.

I can't think of any recent examples of this happening the other way round.|||It depends, saying that most F1 drivers first where champions in indy cars.

But i still think that the F1 drivers would win because of the experience that they have, really it depends on who is racing.|||there is a different in the design of the cars and the handling of the car.

you could do both and there has been a few people who have won a f1 an Indy but only one person has won both series in the same year|||On Speedway tracks - Indy,They are made specially by only having the componants for turning Left and Throttle , so are 10 times lighter than F1

Elsewhere it would be the 2006 F1 Superteams(Ferrari,Renault,McLaren) as they use the V10 engines rather than the Indy v8's|||I believe the best example is Nigel Mansell. Having being world champion in formula one, he went to America and took part in Indy carracing. He became rooky of the year won most pole positions and became world indy car champion.|||IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE DIFF THEN WHY ASK THE QESTION|||ask Nigel Mansel. He was a past F-1 champ for Ferrari, then came over to race Indy cars. He wasn't near as competitive in Indy as F-1. Michael Andretti went to F-1 from Indy, wasn't as competitive. Apples and oranges. The designs of the cars are crucial to the success of what style of racing the car is designed for. Different styles of tracks, i.e. road courses or ovals. A lot of the tracks in Europe are made with marble, not just tar, dirt and rocks. So tires are made of different compounds. Then there are driving styles. How do they draft? Meaning pulling or pushing each other. Agressiveness. A lot of variables in the two types of racing.|||The best of F1 would win. That's why it is the pinnacle of motorsports|||It depends on the track....Indy cars will win a street or off road race and would be better on rough surfaces.

F1's will win on race tracks and smooth straight roads as they are built for speed and are extremly aerodinamic as they are built the same as a plane, one rock of the road will send one flying. the only thing that holds them down is the spoiler and bumper and once they stop you can't really start them again and you may as well forget about the breaks as they are not used when racing unless they urgently have to but even then it takes miles to stop.

So when it comes to pure speed the F1 wins.

For more controll and fancy drifts it would have to be indy.

However F1 Drivers are extremly skilled and are the top dogs in racing so I wouldn't really place any bets|||Formula One and Indy Cars are totally different breeds and tell you the truth it would come down to what car they were to drive. If you pitted an actual F1 car against a Indy car I believe the F1 car and driver would out do the Indy car and drive. Schumacher would eat any Indy drivers lunch. Those F1 cars are so high tech and they race in the rain and all kinds of conditions as for Indy they would stop it.

If it was an Indy car race only and on a US track, then it would be interesting and would have to give an Indy drive a slight edge in familiarity.|||F1 would gut them. INDycar is the minorleagues, while F1 is the highest level of racecar driving in the world.|||F-1??? INDY??? I remember those cars they had no fenders. Nobody gose to watch them anymore. They are BORING!!!!!|||Indy sucks

F1 RULES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALONSO IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!|||All I can say is that F1 drivers have in general done better going to Indy car racing than indy drivers have going to F1.

(I know there are exceptions such as Jacques Villeneuve, but I am talking in general terms!)

Indy car drivers also tend to have longer careers than F1 drivers. By that I mean indy drivers still race despite having celebrated more birthdays than F1 drivers.

(again I know there are exceptions such as Fangio)

As for differences between them, I suggest you look IRL, CART and Formula 1 on Wikipedia and read it for yourself!!!|||Normal race track (road course), it will be a hands-down win for the F1 car. It gets closer on the ovals, but I think that F1 cars may just edge it ahead if they're set up aerodynamically to a Monza-like setting (super-high speed, low downforce, low drag). Reliability may be a key issue here, since F1 engines are designed for 2 race weekends (but probably not for 15 minutes at full throttle, 19,000 rpm), but the engine manufacturers may get their hands dirty and make a reliable yet powerful engine for this kind of racing.

Differences:

-F1 cars have a slight edge in power (it was a massive edge in the V10 era, now it's growing back up(slowly, due to the "freeze"), even with V8's)

-F1 cars produce massive amounts of downforce to help them grip the track in corners

-the drivers have more skill in F1, since they always run on tricky circuits (I know that American open-wheelers race on city streets, but F1 races on the streets of Monaco for the Monaco GP, where there's barely room to put 2 cars side-by-side) which require great nerve and knowing how to set up your car properly.|||As a NASCAR fan, I would say.....it would bore the world!|||the race will divid into 2 section F1 drivers racing in front and the indy driver racing at the back of them..

sure F1 drivers r more skilled..|||F1 drivers vs Indy drivers - F1 drivers are the best of the world where as indy drivers are the best of america, drivers like barrichello, massa and ex montoya are the best of america but they are good enough to compete with the best of the world. indy drivers are the drivers who didnt make it to F1 OR they are the drivers trying to get into F1. All drivers want to get to F1 because first of all, all the top drivers are there, there is more history in F1, the cars are the most technically advanced machines on the planet and because its a world wide sport and way more popular.

F1 car vs Indy car - F1 car's brakes are the biggest difference, F1 cars can brake so much later than any other car because of there carbon brakes. F1 cars corner quicker because they have so much down force. F1 cars speed up faster because they have more power and are far lighter. Over a standard road course an indy would be about 10 seconds slower than a current F1 car.|||As long as we make it even ground where the F1 guys get to build an Oval track car, and the Indy guys build a Road course car, the F1 guys will win hands down, for these reasons:

1.) they are lighter

2.) acceleration

3.) braking power

4.) aerodynamics (down force is twice that of the INDY/CART type cars)|||back in the 70's and 80's they used to have an all star race between these 2 racing leagues. the F1 cars always killed the indy cars.

if the race was to be held today, the F1 cars would blow the indy cars off the track. the F1 cars are lighter, quicker, and the drivers are just better.

Look at Michael Andretti, not to go bad on him, but he is a great indy car driver, and he could not hang with the F1 drivers back when he was over there racing!!!!!|||Well u see , Indy cars r manageable but to drive an F1 car u need some skill.

Indy cars r just normal , they r like a ordinary car but F1 cars have the gearbox n every thin else on the steering wheel so i'd say F1 will have the edge over Indy.|||based on skill alone the f1 drivers would as an f1 car is harder to handle then an indy car . an indy car has a slightly wider wheelbase though making it easier to handle. this is down to the fact that the power of the car is spread over a larger area where in an f1 car its narrow and has a higher tendancy to want to spin round on the driver.|||lol.. If you dont know the difference in F1 and INDY then you need to open your eyes and watch a race or two! Next Question, This ones STUPID!

All I can say is that on this website, at the time the photos were taken, these champs had the mo.|||To my knowledge, Moustaches were outlawed after nigel Mansell was found to be smuggling manx mice into the F1 circuits under his in 1992.

Manx mice smuggling has been a problem since 1783, when Blackbeard first discovered the street value of a "manxie" to be twice that of it's weight in gold dubloons.

In some countries the tradition has been carried further with hamsters smuggled inside the undercracker, this type of smuggling has become known as "hammie bashing"|||This question opens a raft of other mo related Q's
