When i start computer it shows keyboard error press F1. How do you press F1 when keyboard does'nt work?

I turn on power, the computer starts checking NVRAM, then I get keyboard error press F1 to run setup. How can press F1 when keyboard will not work? Have tried 3 different keyboards, but stil nothing.|||Try plugging in your keyboard first and then turning your computer on. Where I work they have a very out of date computer and it did the same thing. We turned the power off and plugged in the keyboard. When we turned the computer on it worked.|||FIx or replace the keyboard. WHen you press F1, it will know you have fixed it.|||easy you don't. Duh...|||You could try holding down a key on one of the keyboards as soon as you try and power it on. This might work, but I would bet that perhaps you've plugged the keyboard into the wrong plug. The motherboard is seeing something plugged in, but it's seeing a problem. I would verify the connection you are connecting to is, in fact, the keyboard jack. If this doesn't work you could try a different interface type like a USB keyboard.|||Could be that your motherboard is going bad or that your keyboard is bad. Check it first to make sure unplug the keyboard and plug it back in|||it will likely not accept your keypress.

if you are using ps/2 mouse and keyboard, ensure they are not plugged into the wrong ports.
