How old were you when you started watching F1?

How old were you when you started watch F1 on a regular basis and who introduced you to it?





I was 13, I wasn't allowed to watch F1 until then in case there was a fatal accident and the due to the secret hope from my mother that I would start like girly things. (That never happened.)





(When she realised that a girl can like boys and cars at the same time I was allowed to watch F1.)|||I’m from Australia and when I was kid I pretty much only watched the Australian GP (all the European races were on at 2am Australian time)… I remember watching the 1993 Australian GP when I was 4. When I was 11 in 2000 I started taping F1 races and I would watch them the following day – so I guess that’s when I “officially” started watching F1.|||My dad was an avid Indy car and Formula one fan, and i was brought up that way too. I remember sneaking out of my bed as a very young kid to watch the Formula one races on live on TV late at night with Dad, even though he taped them for me, and i would always watch it on the Monday night after school.





My favorite parts was the starts, crashes, rounds of pit stops and of course podium (especially the champagne spraying). I always got dad to "skip the talking at the end" cos that was the boring bit!





I think i only really started to understand all the tires, fuel loads, wings, pit stops and laps when i was 4 or 5 but i knew a fair amount of the drivers names by the time i was 3. Hence naming my teddy bear Michael Schumacher haha.





Went to my first gran prix, the Melbourne GP when i was 3 and loved it, but it was too loud! Now i go every year.





Mark Webber all the way!!!|||I have memories of my dad watching the odd races when I was very young and wanting to be a racing driver. It wasn't until I was 12/13 I started properly watching. They used to show the highlights before kids morning tv so I bought a computer game and my mum bought me tickets for Silverstone 1997. The rest is history, I became a hardcore fan.|||I watched bits and pieces when I was a child, but none of my family were into motorsport (or any other sport, now I think about it!), so sport programmes were rarely on the TV, save wrestling on a Saturday!





It wasn't till I was about 25 when I got into F1 big time. Can't even remember how exactly I got watching a race, but I was hooked straight away.|||I started watching F1 regularly in 1997 and the race was the Monaco Grand Prix. Before then I watched 1 or 2 races but I can't remember them, must have been between 1992 and 1994. No body got me into it, I just turned the tv on on a Sunday afternoon and have been hooked ever since.|||I've been watching F1 as long as I can remember. I'm 16, and went to the US GP in Indy when I was 7 I think. Of course, most of this is because my dad's been working in IndyCar since 1996 so when my favorite drivers Alex Zanardi and then his replacement Juan Montoya both ended up going to Formula 1 I watched mostly to see them.

Trust me.|||I started when I was 6 years old, I remember in 1999 my dad bought me a Playstation for Christmas, and one of the games that he got for me was F1 99. I became interested in the sport after playing the game, and when I found out that they showed F1 races on TV, I started watching them.|||I'm 33 now and i started watching F1 at the start of the 90s. I can't remember which year. I stopped watching it in about 2001 as i got board of watching MS win everything. Than i started watching it again in 2007 and i've not missed a race since. Go Lewis.|||I grew up with car and bike racing, I saw my first motor race sometime in the early 50s (Castle Combe, which is where my youngest daughter first walked!)) and F1 on TV when we finally got one in 1957.





I still love almost every form of motor-sport.|||I watched it a bit in my mid teens but only got into it about a year ago (@20) when I watched the Hungarian GP and watched Hamilton win for the first time last season.|||I was 14 when I first started watching Formula 1, but only became really interested when I got to 30, dont ask me why !|||I got into F1 during Lewis Hamilton's rookie year. He's my favorite active driver, but I've grown to love alot of them now!





I haz man-crush on David Coulthard...|||the first race i ever watched was the european gp in 1995 when i was 9 years old and ive never missed a race since then.|||11 years|||5 years old if i'm not mistaken... It was a long time ago...|||5 or 6 i think.... maybe 7... when damon hill was doing well|||I started last week LOL. and I'm 14|||I've never watched it. In fact I had to google to find out what it is.
