Does F1 student visa allow me to get a drivers license in US?

I am applying to a university in US and gonna be living there with an F1 student visa. I have been in US before but with a J1 visa and that didn't allow me to drive in US.|||Which State will you be studying?

Without this information it is not possible to answer your question with any degree of accuracy.

In most states the minimum requirements are that you must be able to prove: your full legal name, identity, age, and lawful presence in the United States.

The lawful presence is usually always interpreted different by each DMV and the documents required to prove this sometimes vary also.

Usually your foreign passport w/ photo, F-1 visa and I-94 covers all of the above but like I said DMV workers are funny people and may also require you to have an EAD and/or SSN along with your I-20.|||If you are coming to Florida then yes. Here's the link.
