What will happen if F1 student gets reported for drug use?

my friend is under F1 visa. he took come pills and fell unconscious. his cousin took him to the hospital. the doctor said he was going to be fine but reported to the police as a drug case. he took about 20 pills of some medicine. can any one tell me if he is going to get deported or he'll be fined. i would really appreciate if anyone could tell me what might happen.|||It would probably depend on whether these pills are narcotics and whether they regard this as a suicide attempt or a fairly stupid effort to get high. 20 of anything doesn't sound like an accident.|||There's a pretty good possibility he will be deported. F1 students are here because they want to learn not get high.|||i honestly think if the police found out that he had bought the drugs and if ur friend gets convicted he will be 1st detained then deported for sure. The United States takes drugs really seriously..|||There's a great possibility that he will get deported. A friend of mine was deported due to a fight. The police came and reported as an assault. Once the police are involved and a record is written, it's very possible that the individual gets deported.
