How many F1 drivers won their championship sporting a moustache and what were their names|||I just looked at the photos on the website below.
http://www.formula1.com/teams_and_driver鈥?/a>
Graham Hill 1962, 68
Keke Rosberg 1982
Nigel Mansell 1992
Only 3 drivers with Mo.
I would have thought more than that.
I can't guarantee that these men had the mo at the time they won the title, nor can I say that others who appear mo-less haven't had it when they won the title. All I can say is that on this website, at the time the photos were taken, these champs had the mo.|||To my knowledge, Moustaches were outlawed after nigel Mansell was found to be smuggling manx mice into the F1 circuits under his in 1992.
Manx mice smuggling has been a problem since 1783, when Blackbeard first discovered the street value of a "manxie" to be twice that of it's weight in gold dubloons.
In some countries the tradition has been carried further with hamsters smuggled inside the undercracker, this type of smuggling has become known as "hammie bashing"|||This question opens a raft of other mo related Q's
1. Are mo's a fire risk?
2. Is a mo actually a furry nose spoiler?
3. Is the weight gain of a mo offset by its aerodynamic properties?
4. Should the FIA ban all mo's or just double deck mo's?
Sorry i'm bored!
PS Rockpool was right!|||Actually if you research the fact you will find that an F1 driver has never won a championship with a moustache, at the time of winning they all drove a car to win, with various manufacturers but never a Moustache
