I've been an F1 fan for a long time now and would like to learn more about the cars, the mechanics, how they work, the technologies behind them. Anyone know of any good online resources for reading such things?|||visit the official F1 website at http://www.formula1.com/default.html
point your mouse on the "news" tab and then another set of menu pops out, go click "technical"
you will be able to see particular technological - aerodynamic and mechanical enhancements being used by the car for a particular race in a particula race track. if i am not mistaken you can also go back as far as the 2004 f1 season.
some examples you will see include why a winglet was added to this car or why a diffuser had to be redesigned for a particular track and why it wasn't used on another track... it's detail by detail per car per team per manufacturer. pure technical delight!|||Check F1technical.net It contains news and forum discussion, including details of aerodynamics and mechanics.|||You should really subscribe to Racecar Engineering. The official F1 website is good too.
