Is there any part of a parking brake mechanism in a 1948 Ford F1 that can simply come loose and be easily repaired?
What else might go wrong with the parking brake that might be difficult at first to figure out but have a relatively easy solution?
I'm looking for both a problem that would keep the brake from working AND the solution.|||Let me start out by saying I'm not the smartest person when it comes to auto repair. Last week I had an accident with my Honda Odyssey and I wasn't sure how to fix them. I tried to search the Internet for help, but the procedures were too complex for my skills. I ended up going to the dealship for my repairs. The dealership tends to charge more than mom and pop repair shops, but they've seen all sorts of situations (auto insurance problems, repair warranty issues, etc) and they seem to always find a way to help me. Maybe you can try calling auto repair shops in your area to see if they can help you. http://www.autorepairshoplocator.com|||has it seized up or is the cable still moving? If the cable is still moving, it may be an actuater. Must make sure the Act-chew-ator is moving the brake shoes as well. brake shoes must be adjusted for all to work.|||if it is stock ;it locks on to a barrel type drum at the trans end.rust would be the only thing stopping it.
