What are the most interesting plans for F1 in the near future?

From the removal of traction control, to night races, to McLaren supplying ECUs to all the teams; what have you heard that's going to make F1 2008 potentially dramatically different from F1 2007? Please cite sources (web page links) if you can.|||Traction control was old school, a technology perfected and no longer required in F1. And I bet that the drivers are up to the task of handling a non TC enabled racer if it comes to that. One of the goals of F1 is the advancement of motoring and TC was just one step.

My favorite is the KERS, or Kinetic Energy Recovery System, a kind of regenerative braking in which the energy lost as heat during braking is converted to electricity and given back to the vehicle to boost its power. Or in short, it is energy recycling. Bad, it is not going to be practical in 2008, technology is not mature yet!

I desperately hope that the cursed winglets are banned in the next season. This could bring back the delighful slipstreaming back to racings so that there will be more overtaking and the race is active in the straight lines too.|||Getting rid of traction control and hopefully launch control. What a joke. These guys make millions and cant get out of a corner without traction control keeping them pointed in the right direction. I want to see the drivers skill not some engineer. The good ones will be able to carefully accelerate without just burning the tires off.

I had a gf once that complained how hard it was to get out of her driveway in the snow. She couldn't do it without 4wd. It turns out it was because all she did was floor it and wonder why she was spinning her wheels and not going anywhere. Are these clowns no better drivers than her?|||i think its the loss of traction controle, along with the return of ground effects (though i think that might not be there in 08 but its comming)|||hmmmmm to much is going on !|||traction control (it's about time) and night races (should be disasterous)|||i would really like a night race because it would be really exiting. traction control gone will be a good thing. i want them to lower the front wing for more overtaking. i found on this website that sebastian bordas will join torro rosso 4 2008|||I think full slicks are to be brought back. It's hard to say I can't find anything specific in the 2008 sporting regulations but the fact that the rule which states "All dry-weather tyres must incorporate circumferential grooves square to the wheel axis and around

the entire circumference of the contact surface of each tyre." has been crossed out.

Anyway, this is the FIA press release, it's long and seems to be quite dull so if you want to read it......have fun :D|||I heard somewhere that they were going to change the engine size to 1.3 or 1.8. I can't remember where i heard that but i did.

i would like to see full slicks put back in use...|||The main thing is the new rear wing which will provide more overtaking.
